Today, the UAE air defenses dealt with 3 drones

The Ministry of Defense announced that today, May 17, 2026, the UAE air defenses dealt with 3 drones that entered the country from the western border. Two were successfully dealt with, while the third struck an electrical generator outside the inner perimeter of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the Al Dhafra region.

The Ministry added that investigations are underway to determine the source of the attacks, and developments will be revealed after the investigations are completed.

The Ministry of Defense affirms that it is fully prepared and ready to deal with any threats, and to firmly confront everything that aims to destabilize the security of the state, in a way that ensures the preservation of its sovereignty, security, and stability, and protects its national interests and capabilities.
