Saqr Ghobash heads the National Bank delegation on a visit to the European Parliament in Strasbourg tomorrow

Federal National Council President Saqr Ghobash heads the Council’s delegation on an official visit to the European Parliament in the city of Strasbourg in the French Republic, during the period from May 19 to 22.

The visit comes within the framework of strengthening the strategic partnership and parliamentary cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and European Union countries, and consolidating paths of dialogue and coordination on various issues of common interest.

The delegation includes the Chairman of the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee, Dr. Ali Rashid Al-Nuaimi, Sarah Muhammad Falaknaz, Dr. Marwan Obaid Al-Muhairi, and Mira Sultan Al-Suwaidi, members of the Council, the Secretary-General, Dr. Omar Abdul Rahman Al-Nuaimi, the Assistant Secretary-General for Parliamentary Communication, Afra Rashid Al-Basti, and the Assistant Secretary-General for Council Presidency Affairs, Tariq Ahmed Al-Marzouqi.

The visit is an extension of a growing path of parliamentary relations between the Federal National Council and the European Parliament, and an embodiment of the keenness of both sides to strengthen channels of communication and institutional cooperation, in a way that serves common interests.

This visit is of particular importance in light of the growing momentum witnessed by UAE-European relations at various levels, especially after the official visit made by the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Mizzola, to the United Arab Emirates, which witnessed the holding of a special session at the headquarters of the Federal National Council in Abu Dhabi, in a parliamentary precedent that reflects the position of the UAE as a reliable strategic partner of the European Union, and the pivotal role it plays in supporting international dialogue and cooperation, and enhancing security, stability and sustainable development efforts at the regional and international levels.
