The UAE is discussing enhancing joint cooperation with the International Monetary Fund

Minister of State for Financial Affairs Mohammed bin Hadi Al-Husseini met with the Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the International Monetary Fund, Dr. Jihad Azour, within the framework of the ongoing dialogue and the depth of the strategic partnership that brings together the two sides, and the common keenness to enhance coordination and consultation on regional and global economic developments.

According to a press release issued today, the meeting was attended by Assistant Undersecretary for International Financial Relations Affairs at the Ministry of Finance, Ali Abdullah Sharafi.

During the meeting, which was held at the Ministry of Finance office in Dubai, the two sides discussed the latest financial and economic developments during the next phase, in light of the rapid changes taking place in the global economy, and the challenges it poses that require the adoption of flexible and proactive policies, in addition to taking advantage of the available opportunities to enhance the country’s competitiveness and consolidate its ability to continue sustainable growth.

Mohammed bin Hadi Al Husseini stressed that the UAE, thanks to the forward-looking vision of the wise leadership, continues to consolidate its position as a flexible and diversified economic model, based on enhancing financial stability, supporting the business environment, and developing financial policies to keep pace with global transformations and enhance the country’s readiness for the future.

He pointed out the importance of continuing cooperation with international financial institutions, especially the International Monetary Fund, in a way that contributes to exchanging visions and experiences, and supporting national efforts aimed at promoting sustainable development in the country.
