“Emergencies and Crises and the Ministry of Health and Community Protection confirm the efficiency of the health monitoring and response system in following up on the Ebola virus”

The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority and the Ministry of Health and Community Protection confirmed the readiness of the national monitoring and response system to deal with any health developments or developments, especially those related to the Ebola virus, and explained that the health preparedness and monitoring procedures adopted in the country are subject to periodic evaluation and review in accordance with the best practices and approved standards.

This came during a meeting held under the chairmanship of Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Community Protection, under the supervision of the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, and with the participation of concerned authorities and strategic partners.

During the meeting, the latest developments related to the Ebola virus were reviewed, in addition to a review of the national health monitoring and response systems adopted in the country, the precautionary measures in place, and coordination and integration mechanisms with relevant authorities at the local, national and international levels.

The Authority and the Ministry confirmed the continued implementation of precautionary monitoring measures within the proactive approach followed by the UAE to strengthen the public health preparedness system and response to communicable diseases, with the readiness of health facilities and medical personnel to deal efficiently and effectively with various health cases when needed.

The Authority and the Ministry stressed the importance of obtaining information from official sources, and not circulating or publishing inaccurate information, and stressed the UAE’s firm commitment to protecting public health and promoting community health awareness.
