Extending the exemption for transit goods by two months and 20 days for empty containers in Eastern ports


General Ports AuthorityExtension of exemption periods for storage fees for transit goods and containers mentioned in King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam and Jubail Commercial Port, in a step aimed at supporting the logistics sector.

The Asharqia Chamber clarified in a circular addressed to the business sector, based on official letters, that the decision included increasing the exemption period for transit and transshipment goods to reach 60 days in both ports.

Extension of the exemption

The Chamber indicated that this extension includes containers, flatbeds, and trailers, And standard containers, in addition to all categories of dangerous goods classified within the International Code.

In its new circular for the year 2026, the Authority revealed that the period of exemption from storage fees allocated for empty imports has been increased to twenty days.

It indicated that these facilities related to empty containers, flats and trailers will be applied directly to support importers and reduce the operational and financial burdens on them.
