US stock indices close higher

New York, May 22 / WAM / The main indices on the Wall Street Stock Exchange closed higher at the end of trading on Thursday.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose by 11.54 points, equivalent to 0.16%, to close at 7,444.51 points.

The Nasdaq Composite Index also rose 25.82 points, or 0.09%, recording 26,296.18 points, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 278.91 points, or 0.56%, to end trading at 50,288.26 points.
