Dubai Police impounds a vehicle whose driver committed serious traffic violations

Dubai Police affirmed its keenness to maintain public tranquility and enhance the quality of life in residential neighborhoods, by confronting negative traffic behaviors that cause inconvenience to residents and threaten the security and safety of road users, most notably reckless and reckless driving, parading in vehicles, making noise resulting from illegal modifications, and raising vehicle noises in an annoying manner.

Dubai Police warned of the danger of these behaviors and the direct negative effects they cause on members of society, especially children, the elderly, and the sick, as they result in inconvenience, anxiety, and interference with the comfort of residents, in addition to disrupting public tranquility and affecting the quality of life within residential areas, stressing that such behavior does not reflect the civilized behavior that characterizes the Emirate of Dubai.

Brigadier General Essam Ibrahim Al Awar, Deputy Director of the General Traffic Department at Dubai Police, pointed out that traffic patrols were able to catch a vehicle performing reckless acts and displaying in a dangerous manner by “screaming woes” and deliberately raising the vehicle’s sounds, thus endangering his life and the lives of others and their safety and security, in addition to causing noise and disturbance to residents and damaging public property in the Oud Al Muteena area, in reckless traffic behavior that posed a danger to road users and caused a state of chaos and inconvenience in the area. Area.

He added that the noise produced by modified vehicles or performance driving is not just a traffic violation, but rather a negative behavior that reflects on the comfort of society and the stability of residential neighborhoods, and causes inconvenience to families and raises fear and anxiety among road users, especially when these behaviors are repeated in residential areas.

He explained that the driver of the vehicle was identified and summoned, and he admitted to committing those acts. Accordingly, the vehicle was impounded and legal measures were taken against him.

He pointed out that these behaviors are considered serious violations that Dubai Police deal with firmly, due to their negative effects on traffic safety and public tranquility, stressing that the road is not a place for display or dangerous experiments, and that any wrong use of the road exposes the perpetrator to strict legal accountability, including vehicle seizure and the application of the provisions of Local Decree No. 30 of 2023, which stipulates the imposition of a fine of up to 50 thousand dirhams to release the seizure of vehicles whose drivers commit serious violations.

Brigadier General Essam Al-Awar warned against dangerous traffic behaviors such as parading, drifting, and reckless driving, stressing that the Federal Traffic Law punishes anyone who drives a vehicle in a way that endangers his life or the life of others or their safety or security, or causes damage to public or private facilities, where the vehicle is impounded and the driver is referred to the judiciary to take legal measures against him.

He stressed that Dubai Police will not tolerate such dangerous behavior that threatens the safety of society and the comfort of residents, stressing the continued intensification of traffic control on various roads, vital areas and residential neighborhoods using field patrols and smart traffic monitoring systems.

Brigadier General Essam Al Awar called on drivers to adhere to traffic laws and regulations and be responsible while driving, in order to preserve lives, property and public peace, pointing out the importance of community members’ cooperation in reporting dangerous behavior through the “Police Eye” service in the Dubai Police application or by calling 901, the “We are all police” program.
