11.2 thousand hotel establishments receive 72.2 million tourists in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries within a year

Gulf hotel establishments and facilities continued their strong growth during the recent period, as the total number of hotel establishments reached more than 11.2 thousand establishments during the year 2024, recording a growth of 1.3% compared to 2023, according to data from the Statistical Center for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries on the infrastructure of the sector Tourismin the GCC countries.
The total number of hotel rooms by the end of 2024 reached about 711.5 thousand rooms, an increase of 0.2% compared to the previous year.
The report indicated that the total number of international tourists coming to the GCC countries reached about 72.2 million tourists during the year 2024, recording a growth of 51.5% compared to 2019, and an increase by 6.1% compared to 2023.
Returns also increased International tourism in the GCC countries reached about $120.2 billion, achieving a growth of 39.6% compared to 2019, and by 8.9% compared to 2023, which reflects the growing attractiveness of Gulf destinations on the global tourism map.
These indicators reflect the continued growth of tourism infrastructure in the GCC countries, supported by major hotel projects and the expansion of tourism facilities, which enhances competitiveness. The Gulf tourism sector and its ability to attract more tourists and investments in the coming years.
