Argentina’s agricultural and industrial exports reach a record level

Buenos Aires, 27 May / WAM / Argentine agricultural and industrial exports reached a record level during the first four months of this year, with an increase of 18 percent in volume and 16 percent in value, compared to the same period last year.

According to the Argentine Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, the sector’s total exports reached 41.07 million tons between January and April, with a value of $17.09 billion, setting a new historical record for this period of the year.

Caputo stressed that this progress reflects the vitality of the agricultural sector, which is the primary driver of hard currency flows into the country, in the context of economic recovery and macroeconomic stability pushed by the government. He also stressed the strategic role of the industrial sector in attracting foreign currencies and improving the Argentine trade balance.
