Trump links his approval of the Iran agreement to ensuring Khamenei’s approval

CNN quoted an American official as saying that President Donald Trump will not approve the memorandum of understanding for any new agreement with Iran, unless he is sure that Iranian Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has approved it.

For its part, the New York Times reported, citing an official, that Trump’s meeting in the operations room lasted about two hours, without reaching a final decision regarding the possible agreement with Tehran.

He pointed out that the US administration believes that it is close to reaching an agreement, but some issues are still under discussion, including the issue of releasing frozen Iranian funds.
