المملكة: Gradually stopping direct remuneration from public funds until the end of 2026

The Council of Ministers decided to abolish Articles Six and Seven of the system for jobs directing public funds issued by Royal Decree No. “M/18” dated 2/23/1436 AH, in a step aimed at a complete shift to the method of electronic disbursement via bank cards instead of traditional cash advances.

The decision stipulated the continuation of the exceptional disbursement of a reward for directing public funds to employees working in government agencies that have not yet implemented the mechanism of disbursing advances using bank cards, in accordance with the provisions contained in the two articles. The decision obligated the entities covered by the exception to coordinate with the Ministry of Finance to prepare a time plan for the transition to the electronic disbursement method, while stopping the disbursement of the reward within a period not exceeding the end of the fiscal year 2026 AD, stressing that the disbursement of the reward will stop permanently upon the expiration of this period, whatever the stages of implementation.
