By court ruling, the Kennedy Center removes Trump’s name from its website


Remove The Kennedy Center Yesterday, Monday, the name of the American president Trump is illegal, and he ordered his board of directors to withdraw, within a two-week period, any reference to President Trump or any individual other than President Kennedy from the building itself, the center’s website, or any other sign, and to return to the previous designation.
The judge also ordered the suspension of Trump’s request to close the Kennedy Center for two years for renovations.

Trump abandons supervision of the center

After the issuance of the decision, Trump announced that he was abandoning supervision of the center, and wrote on his Truth Social platform: We will work with Congress to transfer this failed institution. To him again, so he could decide what to do with it.
The art center located in the heart of Washington, D.C., was named in honor of President John F. Kennedy, and last December, the center’s board of directors, dominated by Trump allies, voted to rename the center to "Trump Kennedy Center"

The name of the Republican president was soon added to the front in large golden letters above Kennedy’s name.

Trump’s desire to spread

After his return to the White House in January 2025, Trump took a series of measures to raise his name and image in official spaces, in a break with American political traditions.
The Trump administration is also seeking to issue a $250 banknote bearing his image to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the country’s independence from the British Empire.
