Dubai Holding announces the winners of the “Innovate for Tomorrow 2025” program to support startups in sustainability

DUBAI, June 12, 2020 (WAM) – Dubai Holding announced the winners of the “Innovate for Tomorrow 2025” programme, dedicated to supporting rapidly growing startups in the fields of sustainability, after a competition that attracted more than 1,400 applications from 93 countries.

The announcement was made during the final presentations of the program held at Souq Madinat Jumeirah, where the winning companies were selected from among 15 startups that qualified to participate in the program, which focuses on developing innovative solutions in the areas of food security, resource recycling, and digital innovation for sustainability.

Hive Geo won first place by developing a biochar material added to the soil using climate engineering, biology and artificial intelligence techniques, with the aim of enhancing food, water and climate security.

The company received a cash award worth 500 thousand dirhams, in addition to funding a pilot project to implement the solution within the Dubai Holding system.

The Norwegian company “Cycled Technologies” won second place and received a prize worth 250,000 dirhams for a technology aimed at automating waste sorting processes from the source, while the Dutch company “C2Wall” won third place and a prize worth 100,000 dirhams for solutions based on artificial intelligence to develop green walls and roofs in urban areas.

The total value of the prizes offered to the winners in the first three places amounted to 850 thousand dirhams, in addition to opportunities to benefit from the services of the TECOM Group’s business incubator for a year.

Hoda Buhumaid said that the program aims to support emerging companies capable of providing practical solutions to environmental and development challenges, and to accelerate the testing and application of innovative technologies on the ground by providing guidance, partnership opportunities, and market access.

The program lasted for 12 weeks during the period from January to April 2026, and included specialized training and guidance sessions in the areas of sustainability, business development, investment and regulatory compliance, in addition to providing opportunities to communicate with potential investors and partners.

The 2025 edition of the program witnessed the participation of companies from the Emirates, Norway, the Netherlands, India, Spain, Switzerland, Denmark, and the United Kingdom, where the solutions presented focused on reducing food loss and waste, promoting the recycling of resources, and developing digital solutions that support sustainability.
