Etihad Airways doubles its flights to Kabul
Abu Dhabi, June 9 / WAM / Etihad Airways announced that it will double the number of its flights between Abu Dhabi and Kabul, starting next July 15. The rapid growth of the line since its launch prompted the addition of a second daily flight in each direction.
Kabul joined the Etihad Airways network in March 2026, with four weekly flights, and demand has greatly exceeded expectations, with strong demand from guests traveling to Abu Dhabi or via it to Europe and beyond.
Flights on this route are operated on Airbus A320 aircraft equipped with eight seats in business class and 150 seats in economy class.
With two daily flights, passengers traveling between Afghanistan and the UAE will enjoy a wider choice of departure times, whether traveling for business or leisure.
Eric Dee, Chief Revenue and Commercial Affairs Officer at Etihad Airways, said that the response to the launch of the carrier’s flights to Kabul was exceptional, as demand was strong from day one. He explained that operating two flights a day is a direct reflection of what guests expressed through their reservations.
He added that this rapid expansion provides another example of the strategic approach followed by Etihad in developing its network of destinations, which allows it to respond quickly to the desires of its guests, and strengthens Abu Dhabi’s position as an important gateway linking regional markets to its global network.
