The price of the pound sterling, with the closing date of the London markets, reached (1.3420) US dollars, an increase of (0.02%).
While it stabilized against the European currency at (1.1587) euros.
British Economy
During April, the British economy contracted by 0.1 percent in the first monthly decline since August 2025, due to the conflict in the Middle East that raised Energy costs and push families to reduce spending.
According to the British Office for National Statistics ("ONS") ended a streak of monthly growth dating back to the summer of last year, a sign that the Iran-related war was beginning to weigh on production in the United Kingdom.
