Minister of Justice: The UAE continues to build an advanced system to sustain business and support economic growth

ABU DHABI, 17 JUNE / WAM / His Excellency Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice and Chairman of the Federal Judicial Council, confirmed during the opening of the fourth session of the Financial Restructuring Conference for the Middle East and North Africa “FRC 2026” in Abu Dhabi, that the Ministry is working to develop an integrated digital platform for financial restructuring and bankruptcy procedures, which will contribute to simplifying procedures, providing services remotely, and raising operational efficiency in accordance with the best international standards.

His Excellency explained that the Ministry is accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence and generative artificial intelligence technologies to develop judicial and legal services, enhance legal knowledge management, support decision-making and data analysis.

His Excellency pointed out that the world is witnessing accelerating economic transformations, increasing challenges, technological development, and increasing risks, and in light of these changes, financial restructuring and bankruptcy frameworks are no longer just legal tools, but rather have become essential pillars for preserving economic value, protecting jobs, supporting investment, and enhancing confidence in the economy, pointing to the importance of cooperation between government agencies, the financial sector, and the private sector in developing the financial restructuring and bankruptcy restructuring system.

He stressed that the UAE’s approach in this field stems from a clear vision within the objectives of “We Are the UAE 2031” that focuses on developing the legislative and judicial system in a way that supports sustainable growth, enhances the competitiveness of the national economy, and consolidates the country’s position as a reliable destination for business and investment.

He explained that the Ministry of Justice plays a pivotal role in achieving this vision, by working to build a flexible and advanced judicial system that keeps pace with the needs of investors, the business sector, and society.

His Excellency the Minister of Justice, Chairman of the Federal Judicial Council, said that the UAE has adopted, over the past years, a proactive approach to enhancing economic flexibility and business continuity, through a set of policies and initiatives that aimed to reduce financial pressures on companies, support vital sectors, attract talent and investments, and create an environment that enables companies to continue growth and innovation.

The conference witnessed wide participation from regulatory bodies, financial institutions, experts and specialists to discuss the future of financial recovery, enhance business flexibility, and review the latest practices in the field of financial reorganization and bankruptcy.
