An American fighter jet crashes and its pilot survives

Local media reported that a US Army fighter plane crashed in Washington state and caused a forest fire yesterday, Saturday, while the pilot was able to jump with a parachute before it crashed and sustained minor injuries.

The plane crashed near Rimrock Lake, which required an emergency response from firefighters in that forested area.

NBC News reported, citing authorities, that the plane, an F/A-18 Hornet, was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in California and was conducting routine training when it crashed.
