المملكة: Al-Kharma Environment implements a workshop to raise awareness about the dangers of using pesticides in agricultural products

The workshop included clarifying methods for the visual detection of pesticide residues in agricultural products, by observing signs indicating this, such as an unnatural smell, a change in color of the product, in addition to a difference in size or shape from the natural state of the product.

Continuous field tours

The specialists confirmed during the workshop that the regulations prevent the circulation of products that contain pesticide residues that exceed the permissible limits. They pointed out that violators are subject to statutory penalties.

They also explained that the Ministry’s supervisory teams carry out continuous field visits to fruit and vegetable markets to ensure the safety of the products and that they are free of pesticide residues, in a way that ensures the enhancement of food safety and the protection of consumer health.
