Abu Dhabi Police discusses the role of the family in confronting cybercrime

The Community Police Department at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Councils, in the Office of Citizens and Community Affairs in the Presidential Office, organized an awareness session entitled “The Family Confronting Cybercrimes…Challenges and Solutions,” in Al-Qua Council in the city of Al Ain, in the presence of a number of residents of the region, community members, and members of the “We Are All Police” program, coinciding with the “Year of the Family 2026” initiatives as part of its efforts to enhance preventive security and consolidate community partnership in protecting the family.

Major Mohammed Salem Al-Darai, from Al-Qua Police Station, stressed the importance of community councils in enhancing security awareness among families, pointing to the role played by Abu Dhabi Police in protecting society from cybercrimes through an integrated system that combines awareness, prevention, and response to emerging risks, which contributes to enhancing the quality of life and community security.

Major Mohammed Salim Al-Darai, from the Criminal Investigation and Investigation Department in Al Ain region, spoke about the most prominent challenges associated with electronic crimes targeting families, explaining that the rapid technical development and the diversity of electronic fraud methods require raising the level of awareness among members of society and promoting a safe digital culture.

He reviewed the efforts made by Abu Dhabi Police in combating cybercrimes, through specialized units, enhancing monitoring and investigation capabilities, in addition to implementing programmes, awareness campaigns and smart initiatives that facilitate reporting cybercrimes, and providing safe channels for communication with the competent authorities.

He stressed the importance of cooperating with educational institutions in spreading digital awareness among students, and promoting safe behaviors when using modern technologies and social media, which contributes to preventing electronic risks and protecting family members.

Major Mohammed Mubarak Al Khaili, from the Environmental Police Department, spoke about the role of Abu Dhabi Police in enhancing environmental security and preserving natural resources, through implementing environmental regulations and laws, raising awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability, and enhancing social responsibility towards the environment.

At the conclusion of the session, the attendees praised the efforts of Abu Dhabi Police in enhancing community awareness and keeping pace with emerging security challenges, stressing the importance of continuing awareness initiatives that contribute to protecting the family and enhancing community security and stability.
