"Culture and science" The third session of the Arab Poetry Award is launched

Dubai, June 15 / WAM / The Culture and Science Symposium in Dubai announced the opening of registration for the third session of the Culture and Science Symposium Prize for Arabic Poetry, which this year bears the name of the late Emirati poet Ahmed bin Sultan bin Sulayem, in recognition of his literary and cultural contributions and to celebrate his selection as part of the UNESCO program of celebrations for the year 2026, coinciding with the fiftieth anniversary of his death.

The course comes in honor of the career of the late poet and his prominent role in documenting the Emirati cultural heritage through his poetic and intellectual works, which formed an important reference for researchers and those interested in the history of the region. His selection within the UNESCO program is also one of the most prominent forms of international appreciation for the symbols of Emirati literature who documented the features of life and humanity in the first half of the twentieth century.

Bilal Al-Badour, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the symposium, said that the award was launched out of belief in the value of poetry and its role in preserving cultural identity, consolidating human values, and enhancing community awareness, noting that the previous two sessions bore the names of the poets Sultan bin Ali Al Owais and Hamad Khalifa Bushhab in appreciation of their contributions to enriching the literary and cultural movement.

Ali Obaid Al Hameli, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the symposium and Secretary-General of the Award, confirmed that the Award witnessed in its previous sessions wide participation from various parts of the Arab world, expressing his aspiration to attract more distinguished poetic works in the current session.
