US stocks rise as inflation fears ease

New York, June 16 / WAM / The main indices of American stocks rose on the Wall Street Stock Exchange, Monday, as the Dow Jones index recorded a record rise, after fears of inflation subsided with the decline in crude oil prices.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index rose by 123.80 points, or 1.67 percent, to close at 7,555.26 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index rose by 797.79 points, or 3.07 percent, to reach 26,686.64 points.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 490.38 points, or 0.96 percent, to reach 51,684.88 points.
