Flydubai begins flights to Benghazi, Libya

flydubai has launched its first flights to Benghazi, Libya, becoming the first national airline to operate flights to Benghazi Benina International Airport.
With the launch of its flights to Benghazi at a rate of 3 flights per week, flydubai expands its network in Africa to include 13 destinations in nine countries, providing more convenient travel options to the region.
The inaugural flight was received yesterday with traditional water cannons in the presence of a number of senior officials at the airport.
Hamad Obaidallah, Chief Commercial Officer at flydubai, said: “As the busy summer season approaches, and we continue to expand our operations, our customers will benefit from a new gateway to Africa with the launch of our direct flights to Benghazi. Since the start of our operations, we have always been committed to serving markets that do not have sufficient air connections and creating new opportunities for travel, trade and tourism. The addition of Benghazi to our new destinations reflects this commitment, and reinforces our efforts to enhance connectivity to and from Dubai as a global aviation hub.”

Flight details
These flights will be operated as codeshare flights with Emirates, allowing passengers to more seamlessly benefit from a single ticket, easier baggage check-in, and access to a wide shared network.
Flights will operate three times a week from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport to Benghazi Benina International Airport.
Round-trip business class tickets from Dubai to Benghazi start at 10,500 dirhams, while basic economy class tickets start at 4,500 dirhams. Round-trip business class ticket prices from Benghazi International Airport to Dubai International Airport start at 2,500 US dollars, and basic economy class tickets prices start at 800 US dollars.
