Gold rises 1%, recovering from the lowest level in a week

Capitals, June 22 / WAM / Gold rose by about one percent today, recovering from its lowest level in more than a week, which it recorded in the previous session. By 1400 GMT, gold in spot transactions rose 0.9 percent to $4,199.07 per ounce (ounce), after it fell on Friday to the lowest level since June 11. As for other precious metals, silver in spot transactions rose 2.4 percent to $66.46 per ounce, platinum increased 1.7 percent to $1,691.54, and palladium rose 1 percent to $1,271.25.
