Emirates Airlines will receive six 777X aircraft in the second half of 2027

Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Emirates Airlines, Adel Al Redha, confirmed that the company is looking forward to starting receiving Boeing 777

The 777X, the latest wide-body aircraft developed by Boeing, will enter commercial service for the first time in the world.

Al Redha explained in an interview with Emirates Today that the number of aircraft that the carrier will receive annually is still under discussion with Boeing, noting that the matter depends on the factory’s capacity and readiness to increase production rates, as the 777X is a completely new aircraft entering service for the first time.

He added that the company is currently working on operational readiness for the new aircraft, as it has already begun receiving simulators, in addition to preparing training programs for pilots and cabin crew.

Al Redha revealed that Emirates Airlines has already chosen the first destination to which it will operate the 777X aircraft, but he refused to disclose it at the present time.

Regarding the possibility of converting some Boeing 787 orders into 777X aircraft, Al Redha said that this option is possible, but the company is not currently studying it.

Emirates Airlines has 35 787 aircraft on order.

Al Redha stated that the company has not discussed with Boeing the date of delivery of the 787 plane yet, indicating that Emirates Airlines’ focus is on the 777X plane at the time of delivery.
