Index decline "Nikki" Japan due to fears of raising US interest rates

Tokyo, June 24 / WAM / ⁠The Japanese Nikkei index fell today, for the second session in a row, with investor confidence negatively affected by concerns about the Federal Reserve (the US central bank) raising interest rates and evaluations in the artificial intelligence sector.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.56 percent to 69,396.61 points, moving further away from the record high it recorded on Monday. The broader Topix index also fell 0.31 percent to 3,977.91 points.

113 stocks rose on the Nikkei 225 index, compared to 111 stocks that declined, and one stock remained unchanged.
