"Dubai Financial Center Courts" Enhancing commercial mediation
Dubai, June 25 / WAM / The Dubai International Financial Center Courts confirmed the increasing need for dispute settlement mechanisms, with the influx of investments and international companies into the emirate, and companies in the region moving towards adopting more effective dispute management tools.
She said in a press release issued today that the Mediation Services Center in the DIFC Courts provides commercial dispute settlement options available to the business community, by providing confidential, flexible and efficient mediation services, allowing companies, entrepreneurs and individuals to reach consensual solutions in a practical and effective manner.
Since its launch in September 2025, the center has provided those concerned with the opportunity to benefit from an integrated electronic platform to explore opportunities for reaching consensual settlements, in addition to the litigation system and judicial services provided by the DIFC courts.
This comes in response to the growing demand by the business sector for more flexible and diverse solutions for managing and settling disputes, which enhances Dubai’s position as a global business center with an advanced legal environment that supports investment and establishes confidence in doing business.
The Mediation Services Center in the DIFC Courts provides a regulatory framework for a set of alternative means of resolving disputes, in a way that provides companies, investors and individuals with access to consensual solutions, in addition to the ability to approve settlement agreements and implement them directly through the DIFC Courts.
Mediation provides a confidential and effective mechanism for reaching consensual settlements, allowing parties the opportunity to resolve disputes by agreement, while preserving the right to resort to the judiciary when necessary to issue binding judicial rulings.
His Excellency Judge Omar Al Muhairi, Director of the DIFC Courts, said: At a time when Dubai continues to consolidate its leading position as a global business centre, the importance of efficient dispute resolution is increasing as it is one of the basic pillars of the economic infrastructure. From this standpoint, mediation provides companies with an additional option to settle commercial disputes confidentially and with high cost efficiency, in the event that a settlement can be reached, while maintaining the pivotal role of the courts in issuing binding judicial rulings when needed, and the DIFC Courts continue their commitment. By strengthening the dispute settlement system and raising levels of efficiency and confidence in it, in line with the long-term economic ambitions of the Emirate of Dubai.
