"Big Juicy" Champion of Jebel Ali Racecourse and Dash Stakes Stables in Ireland

Dublin, June 28 / WAM / The horse “Big Gussie”, belonging to Allegro Syndicate, under the supervision of trainer Charles O’Brien and led by jockey Billy Lee, was crowned champion of the Jebel Ali Racecourse and Stables “Dash Stakes”, which began today as part of the Irish Derby Festival.

The race, classified as a “list” race, was held under the guidance and support of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, founder of Jebel Ali Racecourse, on the Irish Cowra Racecourse over a distance of 1,200 metres, with total prize money amounting to 100,000 euros.

The race witnessed the participation of 10 horses aged three years and above, and “Big Gussie”, who finished fourth in last year’s edition, succeeded in snatching the title after a strong performance that ended in first place.

Mohammed Al-Ahmad, General Manager of Jebel Ali Racecourse, stressed that the strategic partnerships with international tracks embody the vision of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in enhancing the international presence of the track and consolidating its position as a global model in organizing and sponsoring horse races in accordance with best practices.

He said that the partnership with the Irish Cowra Racecourse represents an important milestone in the international expansion process of Jebel Ali Racecourse, and reflects the success of its strategy in building sustainable partnerships with the most prominent international tracks, thus enhancing the UAE’s position and leadership in equestrian sports.
