The service of transporting individuals by minibuses with a pre-booking system through smart applications has achieved remarkable progress since it was launched by the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, as the total number of passengers who used this service exceeded 193,000 passengers, in a clear indication of the growing demand for smart and flexible transportation services, and customers’ confidence in innovative solutions that contribute to facilitating their daily travel within the emirate.
These results come within the framework of the Roads and Transport Authority’s vision to build an integrated and sustainable transportation system based on technology and innovation, providing safe, comfortable and efficient transportation options, thus enhancing the quality of life and supporting Dubai’s position as one of the world’s leading cities in the field of smart and sustainable transportation.
The Authority continues to enhance the sustainable mass transportation system by adopting smart and innovative solutions that keep pace with the needs of residents and visitors, the most prominent of which is the shared smart bus service, which provides a flexible means of transportation that relies on advance reservations through smart applications, and brings together passengers heading to close destinations within a shared trip characterized by comfort, efficiency, and ease of access.
Highest operating performance
The service recorded its highest operational performance during the month of October 2025, transporting more than 18,000 passengers within one month, which reflects the growing demand for the service and its growing role in meeting transportation needs between residential areas, business centers and vital areas in Dubai.
Innovative operating model
The service relies on a flexible operational model that allows customers to easily book their trips through smart applications, and benefit from dynamic routes designed according to demand, in order to achieve the highest levels of operational efficiency and enhance the mass transportation experience, as well as contribute to reducing dependence on private vehicles and encouraging the use of mass transportation.
Supporting sustainability goals
Shared smart buses contribute to supporting Dubai’s goals for sustainability and green transportation by increasing the efficiency of vehicle use, reducing traffic congestion and carbon emissions, in addition to providing effective solutions for “first and last mile” trips, thus enhancing the connection between residential and commercial areas and the public transportation network in the emirate.
Continuous expansion and diverse options
The service currently covers a number of vital areas in Dubai, while continuing to study opportunities to expand to new areas in response to increasing demand, providing more flexible and easy transportation options for customers, and raising the level of integration between the various means of public transportation.
Three approved operating platforms also operate within the service system, which contributes to diversifying the options available to customers, stimulating innovation, and enhancing the quality of services provided in keeping with global best practices in the smart mobility sector.
