Billion sales.. Trump turns his name into a commercial empire for unconventional products

Nearly a thousand pages of documents were recently published detailing the financial information of US President Donald Trump, and revealing the size of his profits and investments during his first year after returning to the White House. In addition to the more than $1 billion (£750 million) he earned from cryptocurrencies, according to the BBC website, the six most interesting points of interest were extracted from the sea of numbers.
1.Very lengthy report
Trump’s 2025 annual financial disclosure report, issued by the US Office of Government Ethics, is 927 pages long. This number may be less than the pages of Tolstoy’s novel War and Peace, but it far exceeds the report of his deputy, J.D. Vance, which was limited to only 17 pages. However, both reports go beyond Joe Biden’s 2024 disclosure (his final year in office), which consisted of just 11 pages.
2. Trading goods generate huge profits
It is very profitable to put your name on products, especially if your name is “Donald J. Trump.” The US President has made millions of dollars adding his distinctive signature to a wide range of commercial merchandise, including his comic book “Save America” (Save America), which grossed $1.8m (£1.38m) last year.
Bible copies bearing Trump’s stamp fetched $208,000, while his sneakers and perfumes — includingVictory 47) for women, which sells for $249 a bottle – about $67,000. MAGA musicians also added about $36,000 to Trump’s coffers last year by purchasing a limited-edition “American Eagle” guitar.
3. Melania’s millions
The First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, made $10.7 million from her documentary bearing her name, which was produced by Amazon. Her name is listed as a producer of the film, as well as being its central character. Amazon paid $40 million to produce the film, which follows it during the period leading up to Trump’s second inauguration. The film achieved revenues of $7 million at the box office, according to 2025 figures.
Melania Trump also earned $6 million from selling non-fungible tokens (NFTs) – which is a type of crypto-asset – and $520,000 from the sales of her book, also titled “Melania.”
4. Stock trading
In addition to achieving more than $1 billion in commercial transactions in cryptocurrencies, Trump’s financial disclosure showed that he conducted an astonishing 21,285 stock trades during 2025, including a large number of companies.
Among these companies is the technology giant NVIDIA, whose chips are considered essential to the future of artificial intelligence. Nvidia – which last October became the first publicly traded company to reach $5 trillion – has long been at the heart of the conflict between the United States and China over trade and national security. Last summer, Nvidia agreed with the White House to invest billions of dollars to manufacture its chips in the United States, which led to a significant rise in its stock prices.
In August, the Trump administration announced that Nvidia had agreed to pay 15% of revenue generated from the sale of one of its AI chips to China. Later that month, investors acting on behalf of Trump purchased Nvidia shares worth between $5 million and $25 million.
For his part, Trump on Wednesday maintained his position that his investments are managed completely independently, saying: “I do not interfere in my personal financial affairs. We have funds that manage my money. I made a lot of money before I became president, and they invest my money, and I do not interfere in their business.”
5. “Home Alone” deal
The US President has two pensions from the Screen Actors Guild and Television and Radio Artists Guild (SAG-AFTRA), the professional guild of American film and television actors. Last year, these pensions earned him a total of $86,532.
Trump has appeared in films such as Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, in which young hero Kevin McCallister – played by actor Macaulay Culkin – meets the businessman by chance in the lobby of the Plaza Hotel. His television credits include hosting the American version of the show (The Apprentice), and an honorary appearance in the series (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air).
Trump receives two pensions because his membership predates the merger of the Film Actors Guild and the Television Actors Guild in 2012. He resigned from the union in 2021, after it opened an investigation into his role in the events of the Capitol storming, as he was expected to be expelled from the organization. However, his pension was not affected.
6. Compensation paid by media organizations
Trump’s various lawsuits against media companies netted him $86.5 million last year. The largest payment came from Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram. The disclosure shows that the company awarded the president $24.5 million to settle a lawsuit related to the suspension of Trump’s accounts following the riots in Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021.
Lawsuits were also brought against Paramount, which owns the channel CBS News, and network ABC News For payments of $16 million each. According to the disclosure, the net proceeds from these lawsuits will go to fund Trump’s presidential library.
Trump also received $22 million from YouTube to settle a case he filed regarding the suspension of his account on the platform after the events of 2021. This amount will be donated to the fund that manages the National Mall in Washington, DC.
The documents also included an $8 million payment that Trump received from Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of Twitter – which now bears the name “X” – after the president was banned from the platform following the riots. The documents did not explain how this last amount was spent.
