$917 billion revenues from the software and information technology sector in China within 5 months
BEIJING, 4 JULY / WAM / Revenues from the software and IT services industry in China rose during the first five months of 2026.
Official data issued by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and reported by the Xinhua News Agency, showed that the total revenues of the software and information technology services industry increased to (6.25) trillion yuan (about 917.2 billion US dollars) between the months of January and May, an increase of (10.3%) on an annual basis, while the total profits of the industry increased by (2.2%) on an annual basis to reach (717.3) billion yuan.
In the same period, the industry’s export volume reached US$27.65 billion, registering a double-digit growth of (12.8%).
The revenues of the information technology services sector grew by (11.3%), recording about (4.28) trillion yuan during the first five months of this year, and contributing (68.5%) to the combined revenues of the entire industry.
The combined revenues of cloud computing and big data services jumped by (12.1%) on an annual basis to reach (703.2) billion yuan during the aforementioned period, and the revenues of integrated circuit design services achieved remarkable growth by (19.2%) on an annual basis to reach (175.9) billion yuan.
