Completion of the Nol upgrade program with digital accounting technology by the end of the first quarter of 2027

The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai has completed 72% of the work of the project to develop and upgrade the current Nol system, which uses plastic card technology (Card Based Ticketing), to the digital payment system supported by digital account technology (Account Based Ticketing), which is the newest and most advanced system, as it keeps pace with global developments in the field of digital payments and financial technology, in accordance with the best international practices. It is planned to complete all phases of the project at the end of the first quarter of 2027.

Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority, said: “The Nol system upgrade project represents a strategic step within the comprehensive digital transformation process pursued by the Roads and Transport Authority.
