Emirates Airlines passengers consume 64 million chocolate bars in one year

Emirates Airlines revealed today that its passengers consumed more than 64 million chocolate pieces in one year, an increase of 4 million chocolate pieces, or the equivalent of 6.6%, over the previous year.

The carrier, which celebrated World Chocolate Day, said in a press statement today that every year it loads approximately 750,000 kilograms of chocolate from a group of the world’s leading producers on board its aircraft. Emirates Flight Catering also uses about 260,000 kilograms of chocolate to prepare handmade sweets for travelers.

A huge team of 250 chefs specializing in sweets and bakery goods is participating in developing chocolate sweets at Emirates Flight Catering, who prepare approximately 16,000 pieces of chocolate sweets every day.
