The dollar maintains its strength and the yen is near its lowest levels in 40 years

Capitals, July 9 / WAM / The US dollar maintained its strength against most major currencies today, Thursday, amid the stability of the dollar index at 100.96, which measures the currency’s performance against a basket of six currencies.

The dollar recorded 162.41 yen, approaching its highest levels since the beginning of July, while the euro and the British pound settled at $1.1426 and $1.3392, respectively.

The New Zealand dollar continued its gains, rising 0.5% to $0.5725, after raising interest rates, and the Australian dollar rose 0.1% to $0.6936.

The yen is facing pressure after falling to 162.71 against the dollar during overnight trading, approaching its lowest levels in 40 years.
