What did Trump write in his letter to Ahmed Al-Sharaa?

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani published a photo of himself and Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, carrying a letter signed by US President Donald Trump, announcing his decision to remove Syria from the list of states sponsoring terrorism.

Trump said in his message to the Syrian president: “Today, I informed Congress of my decision to cancel the designation of Syria as a state sponsor of terrorism. “In accordance with the law, Congress will now conduct a 45-day review to complete this decision and make it final.”

He added: “I promised to remove all obstacles to rebuilding your country, and very soon you will finally be able to do so. We have American companies ready to invest in Syria and help make your country more prosperous than ever before.”

He continued: “I look forward to the positive impact that this decision will have on the Syrian people, and to deepening the partnership between our two countries.”

It is noteworthy that Syria has been included in the list of countries sponsoring terrorism since 1979, due to the policies adopted by the Assad regime, which hindered the integration of the Syrian economy into the global economy during the past decades.
