The UAE and Uzbekistan hold the first consular consultations in Tashkent and form the Joint Consular Committee

The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Uzbekistan held the first session of consular consultations in the capital, Tashkent, to discuss ways to enhance consular cooperation, exchange experiences in areas of common interest, and improve the quality of consular services provided to citizens of the two countries. The UAE delegation was headed by the Assistant Undersecretary for Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Faisal Isa Lutfi, while the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan was headed by the Head of the Consular and Legal Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Sherzad. Baterov.
At the beginning of the meeting, Faisal Issa Lutfi conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and his wishes that the consultations would be crowned with success and achieve their desired goals, stressing his happiness that the Emirati-Uzbek relations are witnessing continuous development and rapid growth in various fields, which reflects the keenness of the leadership of the two countries to consolidate the bilateral partnership and expand the horizons of cooperation, especially in sectors with Shared priority, to serve mutual interests, support sustainable development efforts, and contribute to achieving further progress and prosperity for the two friendly peoples.
Faisal Issa Lutfi also explained that holding the first session of consular consultations represents an important step towards strengthening institutional cooperation between the two sides, and developing coordination and cooperation mechanisms in consular affairs, allowing for the exchange of experiences and best practices, and improving the services provided to the citizens of the two countries. He expressed his aspiration to continue holding these consultations on a regular basis, in a way that contributes to developing consular procedures and enhancing the quality of services through continuing joint work and constructive coordination.
For his part, Sherzad Batirov praised the depth of the bilateral relations between the UAE and the Republic of Uzbekistan, and their close coordination and strong partnership at various levels, stressing the importance of expanding the horizons of joint consular work and enhancing coordination between the two sides, which contributes to improving the consular services provided to the citizens of the two friendly countries.
The consular consultations between the two sides witnessed the discussion of a number of topics and files of common interest, in addition to the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries regarding the establishment of the joint consular committee, to provide an institutional platform for exchanging experiences, best practices, and the most prominent developments related to consular work, in a way that supports the provision of more efficient, proactive, and flexible services that meet the needs of the citizens of the two countries and live up to their aspirations.
