Until the end of August 2026.. “Sharjah Electricity” launches new facilities to support tourist facilities

The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority announced the launch of a package of incentive initiatives and facilities dedicated to supporting tourism establishments, as part of its efforts to enhance the sustainability of the tourism sector, raise its competitiveness, and support the investment environment in the emirate.

The Authority confirmed that it has allocated a specialized work team to follow up on the implementation of the initiatives on the ground, by visiting the beneficiary tourist facilities, introducing the advantages and mechanisms for benefiting from them, and listening to investors’ proposals, needs and challenges facing them, in a way that contributes to developing the initiatives and maximizing their economic impact, while preparing periodic reports and submitting the necessary recommendations to enhance the efficiency of implementation.

Director of the Authority’s Subscriber Service Department, Dr. Hussein Askar, explained that the initiatives, which continue from June until the end of August 2026, come in line with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, which aims to develop the business environment and enhance the sustainability of the tourism sector, and is also continuously monitored by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Executive Council.

He pointed out that the initiatives include: extending the bill payment period for an additional month, installment of consumption bills, exemption from disconnection fines for a period of three months, installment of insurance amounts for new accounts in four installments, exemption from fees for approving plans for tourist establishments for a period of three months, extending the duration of service delivery to projects without additional fees, in addition to freezing service fees for non-operated meters in hotels and tourist establishments, enabling hotel apartment investors to disconnect services from unused units, and paying fees for issuing business permits in installments. Electrical maintenance, in addition to the authority bearing the bank fees resulting from paying consumption bills via bank transfer for a period of three months.

Askar added that the Authority will continue to follow up on the implementation of the initiatives in coordination with the concerned authorities, and study any additional incentives that are approved, to ensure the achievement of the desired goals, support the growth of the tourism sector, and enhance the position of the Emirate of Sharjah as a leading tourism and investment destination at the regional and global levels, thus contributing to achieving sustainable economic development.
