Sports federations in the Emirates/ ambitious strategies to enhance achievements (10)

Abu Dhabi, 11 July / WAM / Sports federations in the UAE continue to implement their development strategies through integrated programs based on discovering talent, expanding the base of practitioners, qualifying technical personnel, and raising the efficiency of national teams, in line with the objectives of the National Sports Strategy 2031, and enhancing the sustainability of achievements in various external forums.

This report comes within a series of weekly reports published by the Emirates News Agency, WAM, to monitor the plans and strategies of national federations in developing sports, creating champions, and enhancing the competitiveness of Emirati sports.

The plans of the sports federations reflect a diversity of priorities and executive programs, but they converge on a common goal of building a sustainable sports system capable of preparing new generations of athletes, providing a professional environment based on technical and administrative development, and benefiting from the advanced sports infrastructure that the UAE possesses.

In this context, the UAE Boxing Federation continues its efforts to spread the game and expand the base of its practitioners in the various emirates of the country, by building partnerships with sports councils, national institutions and international federations, which contributes to strengthening the technical development system and raising the level of local competitions.

The Federation pays great attention to discovering talents from schools, universities and community tournaments, as they are an essential source of preparation for national teams, in addition to organizing specialized programs to qualify coaches and referees, to keep pace with the rapid development witnessed by the game at the international level.

His Excellency Anas Al Otaiba, President of the Emirates Boxing Federation, stressed that partnerships with international sports institutions represent one of the main pillars of the federation’s strategy, because of the opportunities they provide to host international championships and raise the level of technical interaction of Emirati players with the elite world champions, which contributes to developing their technical capabilities and increasing their readiness for external competitions.

He added that the Federation continues to work to provide a safe and stimulating sports environment to spread the game, in cooperation with various concerned parties, in addition to developing programs to prepare national teams, enabling them to compete and achieve advanced results in continental and international tournaments.

For its part, the Emirates Air Sports Federation is implementing specific initiatives that contribute to consolidating the country’s position as a regional and global center for these sports, by employing organizational capabilities and advanced infrastructure to host international tournaments that have become major stations on the agenda of global competitions.

The Federation succeeded in strengthening its international presence by organizing a number of championships that established its position on the global stage, including the Dubai International Skydiving Championship, the Hike and Fly Championship, and the wireless flying and non-engine paragliding championships.

Mohammed Yousef, Secretary-General of the Emirates Air Sports Federation, stressed that the development witnessed by air sports over the past years reflects the amount of support it enjoys from the wise leadership and the continuous efforts to develop this sector, noting that the organizational successes achieved by the Federation over the decades have strengthened the confidence of international institutions in the UAE’s ability to host and organize major tournaments according to the highest standards.

He explained that the effects of these tournaments were not limited to the organizational aspect, but rather contributed to expanding the base of practitioners, discovering national talent, and preparing champions capable of representing the country in various external competitions and competing to ascend to the podium.

In turn, the Emirates Camel Racing Federation is implementing an ambitious strategy that includes a continuous agenda of races and tournaments throughout the year, which reflects the position that this authentic sport occupies in Emirati society, and enhances the country’s presence as a global center for camel sports.

These tournaments attract participants from inside and outside the country, benefiting from the advanced organization, specialized infrastructure, and the competitive environment it provides that contributes to developing this sport and enhancing its spread regionally and internationally.

Mohammed Abdullah bin Adid Al Muhairi, member of the technical committee of the Emirates Camel Racing Federation, confirmed that the Federation is keen to provide all services and facilities to participants to ensure the success of the events, raise levels of participation, develop camel sports and enhance its position as one of the important sports and heritage sectors in the country.

He added that the federation is working to consolidate the values ​​associated with this sport, deepen the bonds of communication between camel owners, and preserve the historical and cultural heritage it represents, in line with the UAE’s vision of preserving the national heritage.
