US Senator Lindsey Graham dies after a struggle with a sudden illness

Republican US Senator Lindsey Graham, representing the state of South Carolina, died at the age of 71, after a short and sudden illness, according to what his office announced in a statement issued on Sunday.

Graham has served as a member of the US Senate since 2003, and was known for his hard-line foreign policy positions. He also became one of the most prominent allies of US President Donald Trump, after being one of his critics during the 2016 presidential elections.
