The security of any Arab country is the security of the entire Arab world

The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Nabil Fahmy, affirmed that the security of any Arab country is the security of the entire Arab world, stressing that what affects the security of any Arab country requires a unified Arab position, and that preserving the sovereignty of Arab countries represents a fixed principle that does not accept compromise.

This came during his first press conference since taking office on July 1, where he reviewed his vision for developing the work of the Arab League, and stressed that Arab national security is a shared responsibility, and that the General Secretariat will work to develop early warning tools, preventive diplomacy, and crisis management, in a way that makes Arab action more proactive and influential.

Fahmy reiterated that the Palestinian issue will remain at the top of the Arab League’s priorities, while continuing to defend the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and working to end the occupation, noting that what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank represents an ongoing crime of genocide, and that the League will support the legal prosecution of those responsible for it.

He explained that the next stage is based on five main tracks, including strengthening proactive Arab diplomacy, establishing a culture of follow-up and implementation, restructuring the General Secretariat, investing in Arab people, technology and artificial intelligence, linking politics to development and expanding the circle of participation, stressing that the Arab world possesses the human and economic potential that qualifies it to create a better future.
