The United States imposes a 25% tariff on imports from Brazil

The United States imposed Tariffs of 25% on most imports from Brazil starting next week, concluding a year-long investigation into what Washington called unfair trade practices, and reigniting tensions with the Latin American country after negotiations collapsed.
The measure, taken under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, targets Brazilian practices, such as orders directing US technology companies, including "X"and"dead"and"Google"to remove certain political content, the suspension of accounts belonging to US residents, preferential tariffs for Mexico and India, weak enforcement of intellectual property laws, and barriers to the ethanol market.
The 25% tariffs, scheduled to take effect on July 22, will apply to most imports from Brazil, with exceptions for some goods such as beef, orange juice, aircraft and aircraft parts, and energy products.
