Iran requests a return to negotiation under pressure from US strikes

White House spokeswoman Carolyn Levitt confirmed that communication channels between Washington and Tehran remain open.
Levitt said during the White House press briefing that Iran is still very keen to talk with the United States, and expresses its desire to conclude an agreement, considering that this position came as a result of the devastating strikes on Iran’s military and economic capabilities.
She explained that the US military escalation in recent days came in response to what she described as Iran’s violation of the memorandum of understanding concluded with Washington.
“The memorandum that Iran signed stipulated not to fire on commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, but it made a disastrous decision to do so,” Levitt said.
