Netflix shares fall 11% on fears of slowing growth

Netflix shares fell by more than 11% in pre-market trading, today, Friday, after the streaming company expected a slowdown in revenue growth during the next quarter, and reduced disclosures related to viewing data, which raised investors’ fears that the pace of its growth, by which it outperformed its competitors, would reach its peak.
In the latest step to reduce disclosures, the company announced that it will reduce the frequency of publishing the viewing hours report to once a year instead of twice, starting in 2027, after its decision last year to stop disclosing the numbers of subscribers.
Investors believe that this step reduces the level of transparency at a time when Netflix faces increasing competition from traditional media companies, in addition to the YouTube platform.
