Thani Al-Zeyoudi: The spirit of unity leads the UAE’s journey towards a more prosperous and pioneering future
ABU DHABI, 18 JULY / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, confirmed that Union Era Day represents a national occasion in which we remember with great pride the historical moment that laid the solid foundation for the establishment of the UAE, when the founding fathers met under the leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul,” on an exceptional unitary vision, which placed the interests of the nation and humanity at the forefront of priorities, and charted a development path that has become a global model to be emulated.
His Excellency said that this day represents an inspiring national milestone to renew the pledge to continue the process of achievements, build on the solid legacy left by the founding fathers, and consolidate the gains that the country has achieved over the past decades in various economic, developmental and humanitarian fields.
He added that the UAE has proven, thanks to the vision of its wise leadership and the ambition of its people, that the union was not only an inspiring and successful unitary project, but rather an integrated civilizational project that contributed to building a competitive economy open to the world, and enabled the country to consolidate its position as a reliable trade, investment and development partner at the international level.
His Excellency pointed out that Union Era Day acquires special importance as it is an occasion in which we recall the values on which our country was founded, foremost of which are unity, cohesion, ambition, joint work, and anticipating the future. These are the same values that continue to direct our efforts today towards enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy, expanding our international partnerships, and providing more qualitative opportunities for future generations.
His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi said: On this dear national occasion, we renew our loyalty and belonging to our nation and our wise leadership, and our determination to continue working in the spirit of unity, which was and continues to be the source of the UAE’s strength and the secret of its success, ensuring the continuation of its development path and the fulfillment of its aspirations towards a more prosperous and pioneering future at the regional and global levels.
