DEWA approves 61.18 thousand “no objection” requests during the first half of 2026

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced the approval of 61,183 non-objection certificate (NOC) applications during the first half of 2026, through the “Soqour” program, which aims to enable consultants and contractors to obtain approvals on the first attempt.

The Authority reported that the energy transmission sector approved 32,802 applications, the energy distribution sector 20,200 applications, and the water and civil engineering sector 8,181 applications, while 2,318 consultants and contractors participated in submitting applications until the end of June 2026.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, said: “In line with the directives of the wise leadership, we are keen to support our partners, provide the best business environments and opportunities that support their sustainable growth, and provide innovative services that help them accelerate the implementation of their projects in accordance with the highest international standards, to enhance Dubai’s position as a global center for trade, business, investment, entrepreneurship and innovation.”

He added: “The (Soqour) program supports the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 by helping consultants and contractors obtain the Authority’s approval to submit service requests from the first time.”

For his part, the Executive Vice President of the Energy Transmission Sector at the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Engineer Hussein Lootah, said: “The Falcons program is witnessing an increasing demand for its role in saving the time of consultants and contractors, enabling them to achieve the highest levels of the Authority’s requirements, standards, terms, conditions and guidelines when submitting their applications, and reducing or avoiding violations, damages and fines.”

DEWA stated that the Authority publishes the technical requirements for applying for project services on its website, and also organizes awareness sessions to provide further clarifications about these requirements, noting that it has allocated the “Soqour” Award to consultants and contractors who provide the best performance in various project categories.
