The first carrier in the world.. Emirates Airlines uses the U-Dream headrest in economy class seats

Emirates Airlines has revealed a new global achievement in the world of aviation, creating a qualitative shift in the travel of economy class customers, through its use of the ultra-modern U-Dream headrest in economy class seats, which allows passengers to enjoy a new superior level of support and comfort during their travel.

The carrier has invested in installing new headrests in the economy class cabins of its fleet aircraft, which reflects its keenness to provide the highest levels of comfort for its passengers in various classes, as Emirates is the first air carrier in the world to use these headrests, which have already received great demand from its customers.

Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airlines, said: “Emirates does not rest on its laurels in the field of customer experience. Rather, it continues to search for everything that can add real value to their flights. From this standpoint, we have come up with an innovation that significantly enhances the comfort levels of economy class customers, especially on long-haul flights.”

He added: “U-Dream represents a qualitative leap for passengers who want to sleep during the flight, as it provides full neck support and eliminates the need for traditional neck pillows. This innovation embodies our continued commitment to our customers, and enhances the position of Economy Class on board Emirates Airlines as the best in its class.”

U-Dream is a multi-directional adjustable headrest designed to provide full neck and head support while sleeping or resting, giving Economy Class customers an enhanced level of ergonomic support typically associated with premium cabin seats. It is scheduled to be installed in all economy class seats in Emirates’ fleet of Airbus A350 models, most Airbus A380 models and Boeing 777 models.

The U-Dream headrest, which is included in the innovative Z400 seat designed by Safran, is made of leather and lined with flexible side wings that fold inward to provide comfortable support for the head and neck. This design helps travelers maintain a comfortable sleeping position without their heads bending forward or to the side. It also features an innovative design that allows it to be adjusted vertically to suit different passenger heights and body sizes, providing high personal comfort throughout the trip. The leather headrest is also designed to be easy to wipe, and is cleaned and sterilized according to the highest hygiene standards after every trip. The U-Dream has been independently tested and verified to meet stringent air safety standards set by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

U-Dream headrests have currently been installed in three A350 aircraft, and the carrier is working in cooperation with Safran to install them in more of its aircraft as soon as possible. All of the carrier’s A350 aircraft will be equipped with these headrests in the coming months, and all 270 Boeing 777X aircraft will come equipped with these headrests. Starting in 2027, U-Dream headrests will begin to be installed in the updated Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft.

The largest in-air entertainment library in the world

Emirates’ award-winning in-flight entertainment system ice offers more than 6,500 channels, making it the largest on-board entertainment library of any airline. This allows travelers to enjoy thousands of movies, TV shows, documentaries, music albums, podcasts, and live broadcasts of sporting events from major companies providing these services, including HBO Max, Disney+, Paramount+, BBC, Discovery+, Shahid, and Spotify. The system also provides a distinctive experience for young travelers, with the availability of huge content dedicated to children and headphones specially designed to give them the highest levels of comfort. The system also includes a wide variety of games, including multiplayer games.
