The Dubai Ports agreement with Fujairah Ports consolidates the UAE’s position on the international trade map

His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, received at Rumaila Palace the Chairman of the Board of Directors of DP World Group, Issa Al Kadhim, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, on the occasion of the signing of an agreement between the group and the Fujairah Ports Authority to establish the Rugaylat Port and the Dibba Al Fujairah Port for multi-purpose containers.

His Highness was briefed on the most prominent features of the agreement and the promising opportunities it holds for developing infrastructure and enhancing the position of the Emirates and Fujairah as a regional center for trade and maritime services, stressing that qualitative partnerships and strategic projects represent an essential pillar in the sustainable development process pursued by the Emirates.

His Highness pointed out that the stage of challenges that the world is witnessing requires anticipating the future with a more flexible and innovative vision, stressing that the UAE, under the blessed leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, is moving with confidence and determination towards the future, and that the challenges represent an incentive to achieve qualitative leaps in various sectors, enhance competitiveness and transform opportunities into sustainable achievements that serve future generations.

His Highness the Ruler of Fujairah praised the global reputation enjoyed by the DP World Group, and the achievements and huge projects it has achieved that have made it a leading national model and a global institution to be emulated in the ports and logistics sector, thanks to the insightful vision and sound directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, stressing that this partnership represents a qualitative addition to the economic development process in the United Arab Emirates, which is thriving. With its success and shining with its giant projects.

His Highness also praised the efforts that resulted in the completion of this agreement, and the fruitful cooperation it reflects between various parties, stressing the importance of continuing to work as one team to consolidate the position of the Emirates and Fujairah on the global economic map, and to contribute to achieving the UAE’s goals for comprehensive development and sustainable prosperity.

For his part, Issa Al Kadhim expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Ruler of Fujairah for his support and forward-looking vision, stressing that the agreement represents the beginning of a new phase of strategic projects that will contribute to enhancing the economic growth of the emirate, and indicated that the competent authorities will begin implementing the project according to the approved timetable, ensuring its completion according to the highest international standards.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Amiri Diwan in Fujairah, Mohammed Saeed Al-Dhanhani, and the Director of the Fujairah Ports Authority, His Excellency Captain Musa Murad.
