The European Central Bank keeps interest rates unchanged

The European Central Bank decided to keep the main interest rate at 2.25%, in an expected move after raising it last month for the first time in three years, which reflects a state of anticipation regarding the path of inflation and energy prices.
The bank said in a statement that “uncertainty is still high, and the full impact of the energy shock on inflation has not yet crystallized,” noting that the Board of Directors is monitoring “the intensity and extent of this shock, in addition to its indirect repercussions and second-generation effects.”
