US stock indices closed lower

NEW YORK, July 24 (WAM) – Major US stock indices declined significantly on Thursday.

At the end of the deliberations session, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 507 points to reach 51,711 points, a decrease of 0.97 percent.

The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 553 points to 25,137 points, a decline of 2.15 percent.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 index fell about 90 points to 7,408 points, a decrease of 1.21 percent.
