Trump warns Russia and China against selling weapons to Iran
US President Donald Trumpboth China and Russia have stopped selling weapons to Iran, saying he believes assertions by Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin that they have not done so yet.
Trump said on his network "Truth Social": "Hence, the two main countries whose names are widely used in the context of talking about Iran, I see that they are not involved, and if they were, it would be very bad for them, and certainly not in their interest"
Investigation into providing assistance to Iran
Trump’s comment came in light of reports that Washington is investigating whether Moscow and Beijing are providing Iran with accurate information, following a series of strikes on American bases.
The American President explained that his Chinese counterpart informed him during their meeting in Beijing in May that he would not arm Iran under any circumstances, adding: "Given our relationship, I believe him"
Trump pointed out that Putin made a similar promise despite the war in Ukraine, and continued: "He understands that I do not sell weapons to Ukraine, but to NATO countries. They pay full price. As for how these weapons are distributed, I do not know".
