“Dewa International” is discussing joint cooperation with French energy companies

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority stated that it aims to export its successful operating model and advanced expertise to global markets through its company, “Dewa International”. A high-level delegation headed by the Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and Chairman of “Dewa International”, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, held intensive discussions in the French capital, Paris, with the leaders of major international companies “EDF”, “Engie”, and “Total Energy”. (TotalEnergies), to discuss ways to develop energy and water projects globally.
Al Tayer stressed that this visit comes in the context of strengthening the global position of the Emirate of Dubai and consolidating joint cooperation between DEWA International and international companies operating in the energy and water sector, with the aim of discussing ways to develop projects globally in vital areas including renewable and clean energy, green hydrogen, energy efficiency, and advanced water desalination technologies, in addition to reviewing the latest innovations and technologies adopted in traditional and clean energy projects.
He stated that DEWA embodies at the core of its work the inspiring Dubai success story, as Dubai has transformed into a global capital of economy, trade and innovation, and has become a pioneering model in sustainable development thanks to the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, noting that the Authority has contributed over decades to supporting this exceptional journey of the Emirate of Dubai.
Al Tayer said that “Dewa International” was recently established as a company wholly owned by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, with the aim of expanding the authority’s expertise and successful operating model to international markets. “Dewa International”, benefiting from the authority’s capabilities in project development, financing, technology, digital innovation, project management, and operation, will work to create, finance, develop, deliver, and operate energy and water projects in various parts of the world, noting that its diverse portfolio includes the fields of traditional and renewable energy, energy storage, network flexibility solutions, and projects. Integrated Energy and Water, where the company goes beyond simply providing infrastructure projects by exporting the Authority’s proven expertise in project structuring, governance, risk management, implementation, and operational excellence to international markets.
He stressed that DEWA International will establish partnerships with governments, developers and financial institutions to jointly develop and invest in infrastructure projects, noting that DEWA’s expertise extends across the entire energy value chain, including generation, transmission, distribution, and advanced clean energy technologies such as photovoltaic solar energy, concentrated solar energy, green hydrogen, hydroelectric power, and green data centers.
Al Tayer stressed that the Authority works within a dynamic and integrated economic ecosystem that promotes innovation, investment and sustainable growth, thanks to the support of artificial intelligence technologies and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and based on Dubai’s position as a global center for capital, competencies, and strategic partnerships, stressing that the journey of excellence continues, and that the Authority seeks to make DEWA International a prominent success story on a global level.
